Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction, are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is that they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer. Failure to meet the department's minimum requirements for transfer will also result in automatic rejection.
- It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.
- This document must be filled out electronically and printed.
- You must respond to all items and questions. If a question does not apply to you, write "D.N.A." (does not apply) in the space provided for your response.
- Send the completed form to your background investigator or the agency to which you are applying. Do NOT send the form to POST.

I, Mateo Diaz, would like the opportunity to return to the Los Santos Sheriff’s Department because I truly believe I still have more to give to this department and to the community we serve. Law enforcement has never just been a job to me, it has always been something personal. Ever since I was younger my father taught me to help people whenever they were in need, to stand up for others, and to do the right thing even when nobody is watching. Those values are what pushed me toward law enforcement in the first place.
During my time with the department, I learned the importance of commitment, teamwork, professionalism, and being someone the public can rely on during difficult situations. I take pride in showing up to calls ready to work, staying calm under pressure, and doing everything I can to make sure people feel safe. Whether it’s a major incident or a simple call for assistance, I believe every interaction matters because even the smallest moments can leave a lasting impact on someone.
I want to come back not only to continue serving the community, but also to help better the department as a whole. I know there is always room to grow, improve, and support one another, and I want to be part of that. I’m willing to put in the time, effort, and dedication needed to prove myself again and earn back the trust and respect of those around me.
The badge represents responsibility, leadership, and service, and those are things I do not take lightly. I want to continue protecting and serving the people of Los Santos, backing up fellow deputies, and being the type of officer people can count on when they need help the most.
