LSSD AND LSPD TACTICAL ELEMENTS EXECUTE SIMULTANEOUS WARRANT SERVICE IN SOUTH LOS SANTOS — OPERATION IRON CIRCLE

On the evening of Friday, May 1st, 1997, deputies and officers from the Los Santos Sheriff's Department and the Los Santos Police Department carried out a coordinated multi-agency enforcement operation in the Ganton district of South Los Santos, executing a series of simultaneous court-authorized search warrants against multiple residential locations in the Ganton Circle area. The operation, conducted under the authority of the Sheriff's Department Operation Safe Streets Bureau (OSS), resulted in the arrest of two individuals, the seizure of a significant quantity of suspected crack cocaine, and the recovery of multiple illegal firearms.

The operation was the product of a sustained intelligence-led investigation by OSS detectives assigned to the Ganton area. The investigative effort, which preceded the operation by several days, developed the probable cause necessary to obtain judicial authorization for the warrant service. Operational planning and command were handled by OSS, LSPD METRO, and SEB, with Detective Sergeant Maurice Langston, Sergeant Raymond Rockwell, and Police Lieutenant II Owen Campbell serving as the operational commanders.

TACTICAL EXECUTION

The enforcement action was carried out through the combined efforts of the LSSD Special Enforcement Bureau, the LSPD Metropolitan Division, and patrol and gang enforcement units from both departments.

The LSSD Special Enforcement Bureau and LSPD Metropolitan Division served as the primary tactical breach elements, executing simultaneous entries across multiple target locations within a compressed timeframe. The coordination demonstrated between the two tactical units was described by operational command as exemplary. Both elements maintained disciplined radio communication, executed their respective assignments on a unified signal, and completed the clearance of all assigned locations in rapid succession without significant incident. The professionalism and preparedness shown by SEB and LSPD Metro on the night of the operation reflect the rigorous training standards of both units and the effectiveness of the inter-agency coordination established during the planning phase.

Patrol and gang enforcement units from the Los Santos Sheriff's Department and the Los Santos Police Department provided critical support throughout the operation, establishing containment positions across the surrounding area and ensuring that no subjects were able to exit the target zone undetected. Their discipline in holding assigned positions and supporting the smooth processing and transport of arrested subjects contributed directly to the clean execution of the operation.

RESULTS

Two individuals were taken into custody at their respective addresses during the course of the operation and have since been booked and charged. Their identities are being withheld pending the completion of ongoing judicial proceedings. A quantity of suspected crack cocaine, totaling in excess of one hundred (100) grams across all locations, was recovered and submitted to the LSSD Scientific Services Bureau for confirmatory analysis. Twelve (12) illegal firearms of varying types were also seized and submitted to the LSSD Firearms Identification Section for processing, serial number verification, and ballistic analysis.

The Department is not in a position to comment further on the specific details of the recovered evidence or the charges filed at this time, as doing so could compromise active judicial proceedings and ongoing investigative efforts related to this matter.

ONGOING INVESTIGATION

The Operation Safe Streets Bureau has confirmed that the enforcement action on May 1st represents one component of a broader and continuing investigation into criminal street gang activity in the South Los Santos corridor. Additional persons of interest remain under active investigation. The Department is not in a position to confirm or deny whether further enforcement actions are anticipated in connection with this matter.

The Sheriff's Department and the Los Santos Police Department have expressed mutual appreciation for the interagency cooperation demonstrated throughout the planning and execution of this operation. Both departments reaffirmed their shared commitment to reducing gang violence, narcotics trafficking, and illegal firearms possession in the South Los Santos area.
